Ministry Training

Matriculation:

Those who are interested in taking our online courses may either enroll as a student in select courses, or they may formally apply to the ministry training program as a whole. With regard to the first option, at this time, students may enroll in any or all of the following courses when they are offered: Dark Green Religion, The History of Paganism, and Introduction to Interfaith Relations. Other courses may be offered at a later date. With regard to the latter option, students who wish to formally apply to the ministry training program must fill out submit the online application form and submit two letters of recommendation: one from a personal acquaintance and one from an individual who is familiar with the applicant's work in a professional or occupational context. If accepted, applicants are eligible to take all of the Earth Traditions Ministry training Program courses as they become available. Students who are formally accepted into the program after having successfully completed one or more Earth Traditions courses may immediately apply the credit earned from those courses as counting toward completion of the program. Students are only permitted to take two elective courses without being fully enrolled in the training program.

Three to six online courses will be offered each semester. In each calendar year, the Fall semester begins the second week of September and ends the third week of December. The Spring semester will begin the first week of February and end the second week of May. Applications into the training program will be accepted at any time. Accepted students may undertake the curriculum at their own pace beginning in the semester immediately following their acceptance. For example, a student who applies for admission into the program and is accepted during late April is eligible to begin formal course work during the following Fall semester. The accepted student may elect to take one, several, or all of the courses offered during that semester. Not all classes are available every semester. Please see the schedule for current class offerings.

Regardless of whether a student elects to take a sampling of eligible courses or chooses to formally enroll in the Ministry Training Program, course fees will be paid per course. All fees are due exactly one week prior to the start date of a given course. Students should plan to purchase required texts in advance of the course and allow for book fees in their financial planning. Where possible, links to more inexpensive, online versions of textbooks will be made available, but this option may not be available for every course.

Orientation to the selected online teaching program will be available for registered students.

Students should plan to devote 3 – 4 hours per week, on class work, (reading and writing assignments, quizzes, etc.) per course.
