Earth Traditions Dark Goddesses Sunday November 6, 2022 6:00PM CST

On-Line Registration

2+ Hour Workshop $100.00

Sadly, we often get stuck in the spooky, shivery side of the dark goddesses, the scary witch, the crone, the hag, the winter queen, the evil stepmother, or the nightmare. Living there, in the pride of engagement is a mistake. These Queens are fire and if we dance too closely with them, they will consume us.

Sometimes the underworld comes to us uninvited, unexpectedly. Sometimes we seek it out intentionally to gain wisdom, or for transformation. Whatever it is that brings us face to face with these Beings of the Underworld, their purpose is to incite change, and to bring renewal.

Ereshkigal, Inanna, Persephone, Hecate, Kali, Lilith, Hel, Sedna. When they appear and we journey with them, usually that journey is an initiation. Initiations are rarely comfortable or fun, they’re not supposed to be. These journeys are painful. They strip us of things. Parts of our lives that we have relied on are taken from us. Health, relationships, emotional stability, social or financial status, and we are forced to recreate, reinvent, rebirth ourselves.

Descent and ascent, a cycle repeated throughout history in mythology, and in the visceral cycles of life. Loss, darkness, and death, as sacred initiations These are journeys through a fire hot enough to burnish iron and forge the blade. They sharpen us, and our identity is shaped by them. It is only when we know ourselves, that we can care for others. They have so much to teach us about compassion, healing, and rebirth; for ourselves and for others but they are not in need of us, they are not our friends.

In the northern hemisphere, the time of death and darkness is upon us. Join us as we learn about, and honor these powerful energies in their time.
