Imbolc - Fire In the Belly

Starin Park Community Center, 504 West Starin Road, Whitewater, WI 53190

It is Imbolc! Mother Gaia rolls over, peels open one eye, hits the snooze alarm and snuggles back down under her blanket of white. But it's too late! The spark has ignited a fire in the belly, and even as she drifts in the dreamtime, she warms, and the snow and ice begin to melt the telltale patches of thaw in her blanket.  Join Earth Traditions for a celebration of Imbolc, the first step toward Spring! Dave and Sylvia Linton will lead Imbolc candle making. We'll design and pour some new candles but, also feel free to bring all your old half burns and stubs to be repurposed into fire starters for those summer bonfires, or used for carving and ritual work through the year. We'll also be sending blessing of the Tribe into the years worth of candles should you want to bring your intended supply. Add to that, a spiraling honor of the season with Thistle, ritual with Angie, Drake, and other community members, and a day filled with the love, and laughter of kindred spirits, and of hope.  No pre-registration is necessary.

The cost is $15.00 to help defray the expense of the venue. Children under 16 are free. All are welcome. No one turned away for lack of funds. Bring a dish to share, enough to feed however many are in your group. If you would like to bring a dessert or a bag of chips in addition to your meal contribution, please feel free to do so.  Also, bring your old used candle wax for repurposing, and your new candle supply to be blessed by the community.
