An Olde Tyme Winter Solstice Celebration

An Enchanted Gathering of Tradition, Gratitude, and Good Cheer

Come away with us for a day of old-fashioned Winter Solstice magic, when the warmth of hearth and home, the laughter of friends, and the traditions of generations past carry us through the Longest Night.

This year, we invite you to a very special celebration in the spirit of days gone by, where ancient customs meet the simple joys of good company, shared stories, music, merriment, and feasting.

Within the storied walls of Taylor Hall, we'll gather for a seasonal workshop with Drake Spaeth, complete with a hands-on project to awaken your creativity and celebrate the turning of the Wheel.

We'll raise our voices in Pagan holiday carols and come together in ritual to honor the sacred darkness and to welcome the promise of the returning light. With grateful hearts, we'll raise a toast to our ancestors, to the deities of the season, and to one another, offering wishes for a healthy, happy, and prosperous Tribe, and for peace in a world so deeply in need of it.

For even on the Longest Night, we know that the light will return. Slowly, almost imperceptibly at first, the days will lengthen, and the promise of renewal will unfold.

A Feast to Warm the Heart

And what would an old-fashioned Solstice celebration be without a magnificent feast?

We'll gather around the table for a traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings, with vegetarian-friendly offerings as well. Bring a bottle of mead or wine to share, and a favorite dessert to grace our table. This is your chance to show off those treasured family recipes and delicious creations!

The Gift of a Good Book

In the spirit of giving, please bring a gift-wrapped book for our holiday book exchange. A gently loved book is every bit as welcome as a new one. After all, a good story deserves to be told more than once. Enclose or attach a card that says why you chose that book - and gives your name so the recipient can find you.

And if your heart and circumstances allow, we invite you to bring an additional gift-wrapped children's book. These will be collected for children and families affected by domestic violence through the Waukesha Women's Center. A small gift of kindness can bring a little light into someone's darkest season.

A Few Practical Enchantments

Cost: $45 per person, including dinner and all activities. Children under 10 attend free.

Arrivals start at 12:00 noon

Introductions and festivities begin at 1:00 Presentation, Hands on Project & Ritual follow.
Dinner: 5:00 PM. Lunch will not be provided, so please bring a snack to sustain you until the evening feast.

Reservations: Space is limited, and registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Pre-registration is required so that our kitchen knows how many guests to prepare for. If registering more than one person, please include the names of everyone attending in the notes section of your registration form.

Come celebrate the darkness. Come welcome the returning light. Come remember the old ways, make new memories, and share in the warmth of community.
