What ARE they? Poppets, Spirit or Baby Dolls, Jujus, Moppets, Effigies, Dollies …? These mysterious little talismans have been present in recorded history since the 1st Century, with evidence of their existence and employment as a magical technology as long as 40,000 years ago. They have consistently been designated as magical surrogates for an intended target of sorcery, and as is the case with many tools, can be used for boon or for bane.
